Established in 1978, the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) is an apex autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
Headquartered in New Delhi, the CCRUM develops, promotes, supports, implements and disseminates scientific research in Unani Medicine, both nationally and internationally.
The research and development activities at the CCRUM are conducted through a network of 22 centres spread across India. The areas of research include pre-clinical research, clinical research, drug standardization, literary research, survey and cultivation of medicinal plants.
Research is conducted in extramural as well as intramural mode. The CCRUM also conducts research in collaboration with certain leading national and international scientific institutions.
Besides, research-oriented health services, public health initiatives, information, education and communication activities are also undertaken. Over the years, the Council has made significant strides in its research programmes and won appreciation from various quarters for its research outcomes.
